The long-term strategy of the national economy (2025 AD) came as the culmination of extensive consultations and analyzes, and it is a long-term strategy with specific goals and objectives, framing the next four five-year plans until 1444/1445 AH (2024), and representing four interrelated and integrated stages, each of which establishes the stage that It is followed by the realization of a comprehensive economic and social vision defined by the end of the strategy period.
The main motives behind adopting the long-term strategic planning methodology at this particular time are the articulation of the stage in which the Kingdom is going through with its local, regional and global dimensions, which require, at the local level, the completion of building the components of sustainable development as soon as possible, and efficient dealing with the challenges that have emerged during recent years, represented in the necessity of comprehensive and productive employment of the national labor force, and the improvement of the standard of living.
On the external level, strengthening the position of the national economy and its integration with the regional and global economy are the most prominent challenges for the next stage, in addition to dealing efficiently with the globalization movement in its various dimensions.
