|The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz inaugurated the Abdulaziz Bin Musa'ed Economic City on the 13th of June, 2006 in the Ha'il Area, in the north of the Kingdom. The City covers a total area of 156 million square meters and will cost a total cost of 30 billion Saudi Riyals to build. The project will provide about 30,000 jobs for youth in the Ha'il region, which will in turn double the Gross National Product. When completed, the City will serve as an important economic statement and its unique and strategic position will enable it to become in important part of the integrated regional transport and logistical system. The city will have an international airport, a railway and a land-port.|
The system issues timely alarms to customers, identifying the location and time of weather events, including torrential rains and storm forecasts issued by Meteorology Department. It is a color-coded system, with each color indicating an early alarm mode - Green (Advice) for possible weather condition, Yellow (Alert) for the probable impact of a weather condition, Orange (Advanced Alert) for an event that requires precaution and Red (Alarm) for a severe weather event or torrential rain. Taking the necessary precautions as we as attention and compliance with Civil Defense instructions, is required. By clicking the flashing icon, the system will display alarm type, location, status and description as well as forecast start and end times for the event.
This project comes in response to the requirements of development and to keep pace with global advances in the scientific, technological and social fields. It aims to provide the drive to make a qualitative shift towards enhancing education in general and educational programs in particular. The existing education landscape has been analyzed and the conclusion has been reached of the need to upgrade, to meet needs of students, society and the labor market.
The purpose of the project is to enhance all aspects of the educational process, from the curricula on offer, to the teachers, the teaching strategies and the quality of the technological education environment. Securing the integration and consistency of courses is essential.
There is a need to introduce and to improve thinking and life skills as students are the basic elements of the educational process. All revisions will be in line with the values espoused by the Kingdom's educational policy, especially with respect to its objectives, targets and goals.
The YESSER e-government Program is keen to support the changes that accompany the implementation of e-government transactions projects, which require the activation of technical methodologies as tools to enable the application of new procedures. This includes the need to develop the human resources of governmental agencies, so that it can keep pace with the changes, as well as change the prevailing work culture and help build an information society. Given the importance of capacity and skill-building programs in respect to e-government applications, and to support adaptation to and acceptance of the new changes, whilst maintaining of high level of productivity, responsibility and continued improvement of performance, the YESSER e-government Program launched a capacity-building and skills development initiative. The initiative will spread information technology culture and bridge the digital gap some employees face when using computers, to permit them to deal with electronic service programs and manage their implementation with a high degree of skill and professionalism.
|The Public Pension Agency has been building the Communications and Information Technology Complex in Riyadh. Its advanced infrastructure for modern technology industries is part of the strategy of developing the IT sector in the Kingdom. The Complex will be used for technical work, the assembly and manufacture of high-tech prototypes and offer technical support services to factories, research and development projects and commercial activities like hotels, restaurants and banks. The total built area of the project is around one million square meters. The Complex is funded by the Public Pension Agency (PPA) and will accommodate the businesses, research, development and production centers of major local and global telecommunications and information technology companies, as well as provide opportunities for private and public sector to take advantage of the many features and facilities it offers investors at the local, regional and global levels.|

The Dissemination Of Digital Culture And Knowledge Lectures initiative is one of the National Plan for Communications and Information Technology objectives. It is intended to enable all segments of society to deal effectively with IT and communications.
Aimed at bridging the digital gap and raising the awareness of individuals, as well as small and middle-sized enterprises, about the importance of telecommunications and Information Technology, the initiative is targeted at all sectors of society. Audiences of the initiative include school students (Primary, Preparatory and Secondary) and university students, as well as the wider public. For more information.
The YESSER e-Government Program has adopted an initiative to build a unified national electronic system for government correspondence known as the e-Correspondence System. This will require developing an electronic platform that links all government agencies, through which correspondence and documents can be easily prepared, shared, stored, tracked and recovered when needed. The government e-Correspondence system has come about as a result of the huge progress achieved in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s development. Such progress is inevitably accompanied by increasing numbers of government agencies, which have greater needs for correspondence, whether ingoing or outgoing.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques directed the General Investment Authority to work in coordination with large national companies to establish an investment body for the development of the land belonging to the King Abdullah Foundation for Social Housing, east of Medina Al Munawarah, into a development serving visitors and residents of Medina and a national and world landmark. The City will highlight economic development through reliance on knowledge-based industries. A museum and market area, in addition to world-class tourist facilities will bolster its role as center of tourism, while the creation of a modern commercial area will to serve Medina residents and visitors and help reduce pressure on the central area of the city. In addition, a distinctive residential area for those wishing to work, invest and stay next to the Prophet's Mosque (PBUH), will be built. The city is expected to attract investments worth 30 billion riyals and provide more than 20,000 new jobs.
A website of the Quran, including interpretations and explanations by various clerics, available in seven languages, serves as a simulation of a hard copy of the Quran. Additionally, translations of the meanings of Quranic texts are available in more than twenty written languages with audio translation in three languages. Recitals by famous Quranic readers are also available. Verses can be played with ease to children and the blind.
The Kingdom takes a free market approach to its trading policy that places no restrictions on individual initiative or the role of the private sector in business and development. Saudi trade policy provides for trade liberation, boosting the role of the private sector, diversification of the economic base, the realization of economic stability, the avoidance of sharp fluctuations, the transfer of technology, the expansion of Economic Offset Programs and ensures economic integration between GCC countries, thus developing and maximizing the country’s commercial relationships. The national economic policy provides for diversification of the economic base by decreasing dependence on the export of crude oil.
This budget will cover the cost of e-services provided by government agencies through their projects. Allocations for financing projects will be made in accordance with a well-defined but flexible financing mechanism. This mechanism will be administered by a joint technical committee composed of representatives from the government agency in question, the Yesser e-government program and the Ministry of Finance’s General Budget Department (MOF- GBD). The initiative refers to the automated systems/applications commonly in use by government agencies, the most well-known of which is the Government Resource Planning systems (GRP). Examples of such systems include financial systems, personnel (HR) systems, administrative communications systems, material management systems and archiving systems.
