The proposal of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property for the agreement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the WIPO Copyright Treaty, based on the objectives, competencies and tasks entrusted to it under the organization of the authority and the judge in its article (third), the WIPO Copyright Treaty (a special agreement within the framework of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, and this treaty deals with the protection of works and the rights of their authors in the digital environment, where the treaty refers to two subjects that must be protected by copyright, namely, computer programs, data sets or other materials (databases), in whatever form, if they are considered intellectual innovations because of the selection or arrangement of their contents, and this treaty also grants three rights to authors, which are the right to distribution, the right to rent, and the extension of the right to communicate the work to the public.
