Riyadh. The Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Yusuf bin Ahmad Al Othaimeen, signed here yesterday an agreement with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Mohammed
Jameel bin Ahmad Mulla in the context of the efforts of the Ministry of Social Affairs to implement e-government program. The agreement was signed at the Headquarters of the Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology. Under this agreement, "Yesser Consultant", will work hand in hand with the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide consultancy services to develop and
empower the Electronic Transactions Strategies and other programs and specify the best methods and means of developing infrastructure necessary for the Ministry, and survey and document
services of the Ministry in addition to re-organize the procedures in order to make them available electronically within a specified timetable and according to stated priorities.
Under this agreement, the e-government transactions "Yesser" will supply the Ministry of Social Affairs with a team of consultants to make a comprehensive study on providing e-services, the study will include an evaluation of the services provided by the Ministry and the extent of use and exploitation of telecommunication systems and information technology in the provision of these services.
The Team will work with the team of the Ministry of Social Affairs to specify the needs and requirements of the Ministry in the next stage especially in the development and improvement of services in addition to the infrastructure and systems necessary for that to assess the gap and the difference between the current situation and the proposed future status.
In this context, the agreement states that the parties shall work together to prepare a strategy for the Ministry in electronic services within the framework of the National Strategy for e-government to
include projects, programs and plans for implementation of the strategy according to priorities identified in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Ministry.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology commended the Ministry of Social Affairs for taking this step which would accelerate the implementation of e-government.
Following the signing of the agreement, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology said that the agreement will enable the Ministry of Social Affairs to benefit from the cooperation
chances with the e-government program "Yesser" in implementing its program in accordance with Yesser's plans and mechanisms, support the Ministry's services and support association with government agencies through the connection and integration channel, secure network of e-government unit of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology under the supervision of e-government "Yesser."
His Excellency added that the establishment of Yesser Consultancy within the e-government Program "Yesser" came as a result of the need to support government agencies to transform to e-government by supplying them with Specialized Consulting Teams that help them to improve and enhance the services they provide.
For his part, the Minister of Social Affairs said the cooperation of his Ministry with the e-government program "Yesser", comes under the general attitude of the Saudi Government towards the application of e-government, and to take advantage of the enormous positive developments that occur in telecommunication services and information technology, adding that his Ministry, with the support of "Yesser" is meeting the requirements and the growing needs of all segments of society who want to take advantage of its services, this, he added ensures precision in implementation and accelerating the achievements and an easiness and efficiency in providing services to recipients and beneficiaries.
The Minister expressed thanks to "Yesser" Officials especially His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Mohammed Jameel Bin Ahmad Mulla and all those who are working with him on this Program, hoping that everyone reaps the fruits of this constructive cooperation.
