King briefed on a scientific discovery of treatment for several types of cancer

Riyadh - King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, receives a document from the research team in the presence of Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqhari and King Saud University President Abdullah Al-Othman, at the Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Saturday.
Researchers at King Saud University (KSU) in cooperation with New York State University have developed antigens to prevent the spread of cancer cells by fortifying the patient’s immune system.
During the reception, Researcher Dr. Adel Al-Mogren briefed King Abdullah on the university’s efforts to develop a vaccine to block cancer cell adhesion and growth, adding that his is an important discovery in preventing cancer and it gives a lot of hope to people all over the world, "Al-Jazirah" newspaper quoted.
Al-Mogren, who is a professor at the College of Medicine’s Department of Pathology and Immunology, conducted the research along with professor Kate Rittenhouse-Olson, professor James Olson, Jamie Heimburg-Molinaro and Susan Morey from the State University of New York. Muhammad Hussein Al-Amoudi financed the research.
King Abdullah honored the researchers and financier by giving them KSU’s medals.
