E-Media: Jeddah - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered the formation of a high-level investigating and fact-finding committee, led by the Governor of Makkah Region, (Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz) to determine the reasons of disastrous deaths and destructions of rains and floods which have recently taken place in Jeddah Province, name the persons or authorities held responsible, fix the number of martyrs and the injured as well as the size of losses of properties. According to Saudi Press Agency, the royal order, which described the rains and floods as not extraordinary and not disastrous but led to a catastrophe killing more than one hundred martyrs and injured many, did not rule out the occurrence of negligence by some person/persons or authority/authorities. The committee, with full-fledged powers, was authorized to promptly and strictly accomplish its duty and report directly to the monarch. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance was also ordered to initially pay a one million Saudi Riyal for the first of kin or relatives of each martyr who was drowned to death as a result of rains and floods.
