2nd International Conference of Clinical Oncology launched

Riyadh - Director-General of General Administration of Medical Services in Armed Forces, Major General Dr. Kitab Bin Eid Al-Otaibi opens today the three-day 2nd International Conference of Clinical Oncology, with participation of doctors and experts from various countries around the world, which hold at Makarim Hall in Marriott Hotel in Riyadh.
 The President of Conference and deputy Chairman of Oncology Department, Major Colonel Dr Ali bin Matar Al-Zahrani, pointed out that the Conference will discuss developments in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors in the Kingdom, such as breast tumors, lung, lymphoma, urinary tumors, reproductive system, digestive system, and head and neck tumors.
The conference will also discuss the palliative care of cancerous tumors and the economic and spiritual aspects related cancer tumors in Saudi Arabia and there will be workshops to discuss how to deal with tumors.
"The recent statistics indicate that the proportion of cancerous tumors has risen in the Kingdom and it is expected to grow in the future due to the large number of carcinogens, notably smoking," he added.
The spread of awareness about these tumors and early diagnosis is one of the priorities to reduce spreading of tumors.
Noteworthy, this conference will be held in cooperation with the Saudi Society of Tumors and 24 hrs of learning has allocated by the Saudi Authority for Health Specialties.
