Heavy rains and winds blew Riyadh with a cloud belt still hovering

Jeddah, Riyadh, SPA: Riyadh witnessed yesterday a blowing wave of torrential rains and heavy winds with a cloud belt still hovering and extending from south-west of the kingdom to its east. As a result, there is still a chance that thunder storms can blow those areas including Riyadh and the south eastern and western areas of the Kingdom especially mountains of Baha, Assir, Jazan and Najran. Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, issued urgent directions to suspend schools and all academic organizations for this day Tuesday 20/5/1431H for boys and girls at all educational stages, wishing safety for all and to have mercy and blessing rains. On the other hand, The General Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection pointed out that Riyadh faced this rainy day as a result of the clouds belt which is still hovering affecting mountain areas. The Presidency expected that unstable weather in Riyadh can continue up till today evening.
