Jeddah - A five-day campaign to create awareness about dengue fever begins here on Sunday which is organized by the Jeddah Municipality and the Ministry of Health, the event is one of the first summer programs this year against the fever.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Abdulghaffar Azhari, head of the municipality’s crises management department, explained that many people, from Jeddah and from other parts of the Kingdom, visit the city during this time of the year.
He said the campaign would take place in the area between Al Mahmal and Al Corniche centers in the city’s historic center, which is frequented by a large number of locals 
and expatriates.
He said the main aim is to educate  people on how to eradicate mosquitoes that act as the vector for the virus that causes the fatal illness.
