E-Media: RIYADH - Under the patronage of HRH Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chief of Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) a contract was signed yesterday with a computer systems company for operating and maintenance of computer network at the head office and the key branches of the authority in order to develop the communication and information technology in the authority and its branches to pave the way for e-government. According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the operating process will continue for three years at a cost of SR 13 million to operate and maintain the potential programs, which include operating systems, databases, programming languages, communications languages and protection programs. It also includes using applications in a variety of environments, whether desktop or web for 15 applications electronically as well as providing specialized professionals in information technology and computers and to provide periodic maintenance for PCs and to raise the competence of the authority’s specialized employees.
