Minister of Culture and Information Launches "Saleem net"

The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khojah will launch on Monday at Riyadh International Book Fair, the scheme is an awareness project for the safe use of the Internet "saleem net". According to Ukaz daily newspaper, the Assistant Deputy Minister of Culture and Information for Planning and Studies, the Supervisor of Information Technology Dr. Abdulaziz bin Sultan Al Mulhim said that this project is the first by the Ministry that is related to the National Plan for Science and Technology in coordination with King Abdulaziz City For Science and Technology, adding that it is an awareness project for the sound use of the Internet and making an advantage of information technology. The assistant Deputy Minister explained that the project also aims to transform the Saudi Society into an innovative user of outcomes of information technology. He also said that about 50 cartoon characters were designed to send the project messages. Dr. Mulhim added that many cartoon films were produced to enhance the safe use of the internet in addition to several enlightening books produced and others regarding children as awareness guides. "saleem net" www.saleemnet.com includes a large number of games that would help communication between the aims and objectives of the project and the users through entertainment.
