Within its program for Technological Innovation Centers, King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology announced establishing 3 centers for technological innovation costing SR 150 Million.
Dr. Mohamed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sweel, President of KACST, confirmed that such innovation centers will focus on researches that address a variety of dilemmas facing industry, through different research teams formulated from professors, experts, higher studies students, scientists and engineers.
Such three centers will be established in the King Abdulaziz Un., King Saud Un. and King Fahd Un. for Petroleum and Minerals. The total cost for those centers will be SR 30 Million for 5 years. The three centers are dedicated to focus on strategic and vital fields as per priorities previously specified by KACST in partnership with other concerned agencies in both public and private sectors.
Dr. Al-Sweel regarded the said centers as the best fruit of the first five-year plan for sciences, technology and innovation, which accomplished last year a vast unprecedented achievements all over the region in the field of research, development and innovation.
