Ministry of Health applies e-prescription instead of paper prescription

E-Media: Jeddah - The Ministry of Health tends to stop paper prescriptions, and replace them by electronic ones, to ensure proper dispense, reduce errors after this experience applied successfully in two hospitals in Riyadh and Makkah. The Director of Pharmaceutical Care Department, Ministry of Health, Dr. Batal Al-Batal according to "Al Sharq Al Awsat " newspaper, pointed out that the ministry is going to apply the system of automatic exchange of medicines in government hospitals and health centers through the electronic system starting the process of dispense from the doctor to the pharmacy without papers. He added that the aim of this step is to raise the level of safety and security in the exchange of medicine, reducing the proportion of errors in dispensing medicines. Noteworthy, this experience has already applied in King Saud Medical Complex in Riyadh and Al-Noor Hospital in Makkah, and will be circulated to all hospitals in the near future .
