Riyadh, SPA: Minister of Agriculture Dr. Fahad bin Abdulrahman Balghunaim issued instructions yesterday stopping importation of vegetables temporarily from the countries of the European Union (EU) as a result of the EU vegetable crisis and the possibility that some of the contaminated vegetables there would have negative health impacts in the Kingdom. Dr. Balghunaim added that his ministry would remain vigilant to monitor the situation in European agricultural markets, noting that Saudi Arabia imports limited quantities of vegetables from Holland and France only. According to the latest developments and reports on the health status inside the Kingdom, the imports might resume, the minister stated.
