King Abdullah wins king Khalid Award for National Accomplishment

E-Media: Riyadh - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud has been honored with King Khalid Award for National Accomplishments for his achievements in the field of higher education. This was announced by Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Assir Region, at a press conference held on Sunday at InterContinental hotel in Riyadh, as quoted by "Al-Riyadh" newspaper. "The achievements of the Custodian of the Two Holy in this area are innumerable, indicating that king Abdullah's achievements in the development of higher education for the advancement and upgrading it to achieve Saudi global leadership in a short period was the basic criterion for choosing him for this award", Prince Faisal added. He highlighted that the award committee has listed a series of King Abdullah' achievements in the field of higher education, including the expansion of education in the provinces where the number of universities has been increased from 8 to 25 university, establishment of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, in addition to King Abdullah Program for external scholarship and supporting nanotechnology programs.
