Prestigious award to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques

King Abullah received the human award, an Arab international award, for  2011. The annual award is designed to honor the efforts of nations, organizations and individuals who contribute effectively in educating and boosting of human rights. It encourages new initiatives in this area. The Arab-European center for human rights and international law in Oslo of Norway, in association with the Cyprus based World Press Council announced names of the award winners. Citizens from 146 countries participated in the contest.The international referee panel of the award received recommendations through multimedia referendum. Prominent characters in areas of politics, human activities, media and arts have received awards. In the political area, award winners besides King Abdullah, include Rajab Ardogan, Turkish prime minister, Jens Stoltenberg, prime minister of Norway and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi crown prince.
