Security Officers Foil Smuggling of 8 Million Captagon Tabs
Riyadh (SPA) - The Spokesman of Ministry of Interior announced yesterday that pre-emptive follow up of organized crime networks used to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom, has successfully culminated in preventing an operation of smuggling 8,351,087 tablets, priced at SR 292, 287,730, to be delivered to 6 clients who were arrested, including 3 Saudi nationals and 3 Non-Saudis.
In line with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince, the Ministry of Interior has been keen to take any preventive measures against obnoxious machinations of corruption, targeting the Kingdom by the threat of narcotics and to punish the culprits.
On the other hand, Turkey has managed to carry out successfully, a large police operation to check manufacturers, grace to information forwarded by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, in line with their mutual co-ordination.
On the other hand, the information provided by the Ministry of Interior to Turkey has contributed to implementation of the biggest security operation in its history against the manufacturers of Captagon which has led to the seizure of more than 30 tons of material, enough to manufacture more than 200 million Captagon tablets estimated at market value of $ 1.6 billion.
