GCC Leaders Hold their 13th Consultative Meeting

 The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at Dir'iya Palace here yesterday the Leaders and Heads of Delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States who are participating in their 13th consultative meeting.
The GCC Leaders and Heads of Delegations were UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmud Al Said; Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani; and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
During the audience, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed the GCC Leaders and Heads of Delegations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing their consultative meeting all success.
The audience was attended by Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani. Commemorative photos were taken on this occasion.
  Under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Leaders and Heads of Delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States held their 13th consultative meeting at Dir'iya;iya Palace in Riyadh yesterday.
 At the outset of the meeting, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed the GCC leaders and heads of delegations, wishing them all success.
The members of Saudi delegation to the meeting were Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Secretary General of the National Security Council; Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Commander of the National Guard; Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the King; Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and President of Cabinet Presidency Court; Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf; and Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja.
The meeting was also attended by the members of official delegations.
    Leaders and Heads of Delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States vowed full support for the Kingdom of Bahrain in defiance of foreign threats and interference, urged Yemeni rivals to come to reason and sign reconciliation pact and welcomed the recently-concluded Cairo agreement between Palestinian main factions.
During their 13th consultative meeting at Dir'iya Palace in Riyadh this evening held under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the leaders also reviewed the latest developments of the common march of the GCC  since the convening of the GCC summit in the United Arab Emirates last December.

In a press statement following the meeting, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the GCC, said the leaders and heads of delegations fully sided Bahrain and vowed to unite in one line to face any danger engulfing any of the group's member countries. They lauded the prudence of the leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain and faithfulness of its people, confirming that the security of the GCC member countries is an integral issue and that the preservation of stability and security is a collective responsibility, citing the entrance of the Peninsula Shield Forces into Bahrain as per security and defense joint agreements of the GCC member countries. To this effect, they praised the decision of the Bahraini government to lift the State of National Safety as of the first of June 2011.
Leaders and heads of delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have welcomed the request by Jordan to join the group and assigned the GCC ministerial Council (Foreign Ministers level) to invite the country's foreign minister to enter into negotiations to finalize the necessary measures for that end.
In a similar move, the Supreme Council of the GCC also assigned the Ministerial Council to invite the foreign minister of Morocco to enter into negotiations to finalize the necessary procedures for joining the Council based on a preceding communication with the Moroccan Kingdom during which it was invited to join the GCC.
Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques bade farewell to the GCC leaders and heads of delegations; Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Saeed, Deputy Premier for Cabinet Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman; Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, wishing them a happy journey.
They also were seen off by Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region and GCC Secretary General, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
The leaders and heads of delegations of the Cooperation Council for The Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) left Riyadh this evening after participating in the 13th GCC Consultative Summit.
At Riyadh Air Base, they were respectively seen off by a number of senior officials.
The Jordanian Government welcomed the decision of the leaders and heads of delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) accepting its request to join the group.
In a statement, the government said this came as a result of intensive efforts exerted by the Jordanian monarch and his colleagues the leaders of the GCC to further consolidate the close relations binding the countries and peoples of the region and enhance the common factors.
Jordan is looking forward to continue dialogue among foreign ministers of the GCC and its foreign minister Nasser Joda to fulfill the requirements of Jordan's admission to the GCC, the statement said.
