Cabinet emphasized importance of Arab coordination to confront swine flu pandemic

Riyadh - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired yesterday the Cabinet's session at Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. During the cabinet's session many important issues for the benefit of the GCC countries and its joint action discussed . These issues included the railways network among the GCC countries and activation of the role of the private sector in developing the GCC work in the fields of trade and economy, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Said.
On the other hand, the Cabinet authorized the foreign minister – or his deputy – to sign a headquarters draft agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Organization of the Islamic Conference. It also endorsed the charter of the OIC approved at the 11th Islamic summit conference held in Dakar last year.
The Cabinet also emphasized the importance of the Council of International Understanding, which began its 27th session at the King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh yesterday.
The Cabinet discussed the outcome of Arab and GCC health ministers’ meetings in Riyadh and emphasized the need to strengthen coordination among Arab countries in order to confront the swine flu pandemic.
