MOMRA steps up food safety inspections before Ramadan

E-Media: Riyadh - The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) issued a circular to all municipalities to increase inspections of food establishments before the start of the month of Ramadan. According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry urged health departments to prepare complete programs that would focus on unauthorized street-food peddlers and ensure that all food establishments follow health procedures. The circular outlines proper ways to clean water storage containers and to make sure that water is safe for human consumption and to increase inspection on food factories such as dates, candies and dairy products as well as establishments that sell dried fruits and nuts to ensure the safety of these products from unhealthy factors and fit the standards set out by the municipalities.
