Cabinet appreciates the International praise for Kingdom’s efforts in fighting terrorism and Money laundering

Jeddah, SPA: Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz headed yesterday the cabinet’s session held at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah. Minister of Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khojah pointed out that a variety of reports were illustrated at this session about latest events in Islamic and Arab States. Discussions threw light violence activities against civilians in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somali and Uganda. The cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s position objecting against any type of terrorism regardless its location, confirming its seeking towards achieving security and stability in those States, he added. It asked Iraqis to unite and to accelerate formulating Iraqi Government which will prevail more security and stability there, he stated. He said that the Cabinet heard from the Second Premier Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Head of Pilgrimage Committee, about Results of the Committee’s last Meeting which illustrated directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Deputy, stressing the necessity of availing safety and security to Pilgrims and Visitors. He stated that the Cabinet appreciates the International acknowledgment by FATF and MENAFATF announcing the Kingdom to achieve the highest rates of complying with the 40th recommendations regarding Money-Laundering in addition to the recommendations relating to fighting Terrorism. This makes the Kingdom the first Arab State and within the Ten positions worldwide in the classification of the 20th Group States. The Information Minister threw light on some resolutions taken by The Cabinet regarding what was mentioned within its Agenda.
