The General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities has recently completed installation of the first group of electronic devices for the tourism information centers in Jeddah. The second group will be installed within a few days and will be distributed to different key sites in Mecca regions.
The Executive Director of tourism body of Mecca, Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Amri said, as reported by Saudi Press Agency, that these devices is the first in a series of devices to be installed in the decided commercial centers and sites frequented by visitors and travelers in all parts of the region. It is expected that up to seven devices will be deployed in a number of locations.
He pointed out that these centers rely on sophisticated information systems, easy to use and serve visitors and tourists, adding that the adopted e-centers in operation are using modern technology for tourism information through using of a touch screen.
