Minister of Health orders forming consultative committee for IT

Riyadh - Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has issued a decision to form advisory committee for IT at the ministry, headed by the undersecretary of the ministry for
planning and development, Dr. Mohammed Hamza Khushaim with membership includes specialists in information technology from various concerned sectors.
The formation of committee aims to organize and activate the role of information technology to carry out its assigned role, take advantage of experiences and qualified competences to achieve objectives of Ministry of Health for implementing of many advanced electronic applications in the framework of improvement the ministry's services in the health sector and patient services.
According to Saudi Press Agency the committee is composed of Dr. Mohammed Al- Al-Tuwaijri , Saudi Association for Health Informatics (SAHI) Dr. Mohamed AL-Yamani , King Saud University,
Abdullah Al-Shehri , Commission of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Hisham bin Abbas, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Engineer Mohammad Al-Zaidi , King Fahd
Medical City, Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Radwan, Director of General Department of Information Technology in Ministry of Health, and Mohammed Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Technical Adviser, Ministry of
Health.
Noteworthy, that the most important projects of the committee are to review and study the strategic plan for e-health, coordination with the various health sectors to unify efforts for establishing the unified electronic medical file, as well as exchange of medical information between health services.
