Kingdom to Establish Regulations and Standards for Arab Electronic Media
Cairo (SPA). The Arab Electronic Media  Commission has entrusted the Kingdom to establish controls and standards for study related to electronic media in the Arab countries as the financier of the study, and present it in the next meeting of the Standing Committee of the Arab media.
 The Committee requested at the conclusion of its recent meeting chaired by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information for Planning and Studies General Supervisor of Information Technology, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Melhem from Arab countries to provide the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information with the existing studies about the electronic media information in Arab countries, and to provide the Secretariat with any Arab or international events in the field of electronic media and sent same to the members of the Arab Committee to participate in that event. A report about the activities shall be sent to the Arab Committee for the electronic media at its next meeting.
 The Commission called on Arab countries to support the preparation and exchange of television and radio programs and research on electronic media to raise awareness on the importance of its use positively.
 The Committee in its final recommendations approved that the next presidency will be assigned to Jordan, and form a small working group composed of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar to prepare for the proposed workshops, namely: the economic dimensions of electronic media, and the Arabic language websites problems, and the social implications of recent shifts in the media, and media knowledge in the websites, as well as proposals received for the establishment of workshops and seminars on electronic media.
