KACST develops a plan of a national strategy for medical and health technology
Riyadh, SPA:
King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in collaboration with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, and a number of agencies and related sectors, completed a national strategic plan that shall develop and promote medical and health research in the Kingdom, as part of a national program designed to enhance the health and well-being of citizens.
The plan aims to curb the costs of disease burden, and control health care costs rising, which represents 4% of GDP in the Saudi Arabia, leading to the upgrading of the health status of Saudi society, and through the increase of the total expenses of activities relevant research that stands at 2% of GDP, to a rate commensurates with the objectives of national policy for science, technology and innovation in this area.
