Ministry of Health takes anti-swine flu precautions for pilgrims

Minister of Health, according to Saudi Press Agency, has issued a decree making up a scientific preventive medicine committee for Hajj (pilgrimage) and Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) headed by the ministry's undersecretary for preventive medicine. The committee aims to ensure the safety of preventive and precautionary measures that had to be implemented during the season of Hajj and Umrah. The committee is to set out precautionary measures against looming swine flu outbreak during Hajj and Umrah seasons. The event will primarily focus on necessary precautionary measures to be taken by the Ministry of Health to prevent potential A-H1N1 virus outbreak in the Kingdom, the minister noted.
