Ministry of Interior, represented by the National Information Center, has launched e-self-service kiosks to enable the registration and activation of accounts for users of the e-portal of the Ministry.

The launch started at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, under the auspices of the president of the City Dr. Mohammed al-Suwaiyel, who opened the campaign, which will last for several days to serve the city staff.

The step comes as a start of a national campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Interior, by visiting some institutions to register their employees, and create a digital identity for citizens and residents, which will enable them to use e-services safely, and without the need to go to government departments.

The self-service kiosks enable citizens and residents to register at the Ministry's e-Portal, and activate their accounts by verifying identity via biometrics like the fingerprints and face image automatically. Then the user can use the e-portal and execute the e-transactions available at the sectors of the Ministry.

Eng. Attya Al-Anzi, Director of e-Services Programme at the National Information Center (NIC), said that the activation of the service comes as an implementation of the directives of the second deputy premier and minister of interior; his deputy; and the assistant to the interior minister for security affairs, to deploy e-services to facilitate procedures for the citizens and residents.

Eng. Al-Anzi added that the development of the e-Portal allowed a large segment of the society members, to finalise their transactions related to the Ministry all easily, saving time, money and effort.

He praised the co-operation of the sectors of the Ministry, especially the Directorate General of Passports and the Agency for Civil Affairs, in activating several e-services for the citizens and residents through the Ministry's e-Portal.
