Al Madinah Al Munauwarah. Projects Liaison Office- Al Madinah Al Munauwrah Development Authority- of the city's Secretariat, in coordination with an specialized consultant has started a comprehensive study to enable the services Department to issue excavations, renewals, cancellations and halts electronically using the GIS system.
The Supervisor of the Projects Coordination Liaison Office, Engineer omar zakor disclosed that the monitoring and follow up system will be done through mobile monitoring devices which enable supervisors using Win Mobile to directly monitor work sites and safety means and record violations. Engineer Zakor called on citizens to cooperate with the Municipality and report any excavation violations through Tel. 8227400 or emergency hot line 940.
It should be noted that the new system save time and effort in obtaining permits for excavations and also speed up and accurately obtain permits for excavations and also eases follow up the contractors executing excavations through geographical information without resorting to re-excavation of roads.
