Riyadh - The Supreme Court called for sighting the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan on Thursday evening of Shaaban 29, 1430H, according to Umm Al-Qura calendar, corresponding to August 21, 2009.
In a statement issued yesterday the Supreme Court, according to Saudi Press Agency, called on all Muslims throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight Ramadan's crescent either through naked eyes or telescopes and to report to the nearest court to register their sighting. The Supreme Court called on Muslims for joining committees formed in the regions for sighting the crescent.
