Kingdom to host 1st Arab Gulf Conference on Patients Safety

Riyadh - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host on 8-10 Dhu al-Qadah 1430H corresponding to October 27-29, 2009 the first Arab gulf conference on the safety of patients under the patronage of Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah region.
The conference will be attended by a number of regional and international organizations from the various parts of the world.
 Dr. Tawfiq Khoja, the director general of the executive bureau of the council of the GCC health ministers, said the organization of the conference comes within the framework of the scientific conferences approved by the GCC health ministers.
Khoja pointed out, according to Saudi Press Agency,  that the conference will highlight the problem of patients safety and the enormous challenges they place on health systems and governments, focusing on a number of objectives including active participation in the international movement for patient safety through effective communication with international experience, and World Federation for Patient Safety, and the development of skills in patient safety solutions, risk management, and practice-based evidence through specialized workshops, and fostering communication with organizations, experts and regional and international leaders in this area and keep pace with global developments and the requirements of international accreditation for patient safety.
