Shura Demands Strategy for Ministry of Culture and Information

Riyadh. The Shura Council in its ordinary session held yesterday under the Chairmanship of His Excellency the Deputy Speaker, Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hamzah Hajjar, has approved the annual report of the Ministry of Culture and Information for the fiscal year 1427/1428H,. The Secretary General of Shura Council Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ghamdi, told the SPA that the Council approved the decision requiring the Ministry of Culture and Information to develop a comprehensive strategy in order to upgrade the Ministry's performance. The Council urged the Ministry put the foundations of building a professional information system in accordance with the financial, political and economic potentials of the Kingdom. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Thagafi Abdulaziz bin Mohyiddin Khoja has expressed his support for the Shura Council's demand to formulate a strategy for the Ministry of Culture and Information. The Director General urged the Ministry to evaluate the performance of the media based on opinion poll about the message addressed to each sector or category or age and providing the necessary financial provision to implement the plans set out in the field of culture and the development of future projects, and the establishment of TV channels in education in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education.
