E-Media: Khobar - The Saudi Diabetes and Endocrine Association (SDEA) will conduct its first symposium on "chronic diabetes mellitus complications" on Thursday May 21, 2009 at Carlton Al Moaibed hotel in Al Khobar city. According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Melhem explained that the costs of treating diabetes are due to complications affecting various organs of the body as diabetes is the leading cause of blindness, and chronic kidney failure and that the complications of heart disease are considered the primary cause of death for these patients. Meanwhile, Dr. Jaafar Alghllaf, Coordinator of SDEA Scientific activities said the Symposium is accredited with 7 CME from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and will focus on the most recent advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and strategies to protect diabetic patients from these complications in addition to a number of lectures which will discuss topics about peripheral and coronary artery disease, diabetic foot, sexual dysfunction and other complications.
