kingdom to participate in emergency meeting of Health Ministers of Eastern Mediterranean Region

E-Media: Riyadh - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate in the emergency meeting of the Health Ministers of the Eastern Mediterranean Region to be held in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday. The meeting will discuss the rapid spread of swine influenza virus worldwide. The preventive and precautionary measures for Hajj and Umrah seasons for this year will also be discussed. The Kingdom's delegation, according to Saudi Press Agency, will be led by the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah who is also President of the Executive Office of Arab Health Ministers Council. The meeting will discuss 15 recommendations concluded at the recent workshop held in Jeddah at which swine flu experts from the World Health Organization and the Atlanta-based Center for Disease Control (CDC) exchanged opinions concerning the virus. The meeting also decided to inform the countries that send pilgrims to organize health education programs for their pilgrims in order to create awareness among them.
