ESCWA: Saudi Arabia pioneers Arab and Middle-East Countries in spending on IT Infrastructure

Riyadh, e-Media: Dr. Ahmad Al-Yamani, chairman of communications and IT sector at Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority "SAGIA", confirmed that Information Technology and Communications sector has come in the front of most growing sectors in Saudi Arabia. He said that a report by UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia "ESCWA" has shown the kingdom to achieve a pioneering position among both Arab and Middle-East countries in reference to expenditure on IT and Communications Infrastructure and its related projects. During his speech at a forum held yesterday at Riyadh Four Seasons and attended by hundreds of executives to discuss IT innovative solutions for a continuously growing companies in Saudi Arabia, he said that the Kingdom avails the best business environment in the whole Region. Saudi Arabia has occupied the 13th position among countries world-wide according to International Bank Measurement Indicator for Business easy Practicing, he added. Having a unique location among most active economics all over the world, the Kingdom has been a trigger point towards more than 250 Millions of customers in the Region. As a result, he said, Saudi Arabia has become the vital link among the whole Region's countries and a gateway to most important international markets. The attendees of the said forum concluded that Saudi Corporations which seek to achieve more growth and profitability, should attempt to reinforce economical, social and environment aspects in addition to availing applicable business solutions and strategies.
