Discussing activities of the Information for All Program by National Committee for Information Society

Riyadh, eMedia: In its 7th meeting held last Sunday at the Communication and Information Technology Commission and headed by Dr. Abdulrahman Aljafari, the Commission's Governor and President of the National Committee For Information Society, the Committee discussed a range of activities and deliberated tasks appointed to agencies participating as representatives in the committee. The committee discussed its varied of activities implemented under the program (Information for All) which represents a vital perspective of its interest. The committee achievement during the previous period was also discussed through a number of reports submitted by the committee work groups. The committee has been aiming at developing general awareness so as to achieve the kingdom's objectives seeking to become an information society. As a result, the committee seeks to expand the participation scope among all society members to push the kingdom's development mission forward. Stressing the necessity of active interaction that leads to achieve an information society transformation, the committee has carried out a vital role in urging relevant national corporations to participate in the various activities of the "Information for All" program that is implemented under supervision of UNESCO, where the committee is regarded as the main link between the program and the relevant National Agencies.
