CITC warns of claiming protect electromagnetic waves products

RIYADH - Communications and Information Technology Corporation (CITC) has warned recently sale of some products in local markets claiming that to protect against effects of electromagnetic waves of mobile phones and some wireless devices.

Studies issued by specialized global agencies stressed that nothing prove any negative effects on the health as result of electromagnetic radiation of mobile phones and wireless stations in telecommunications systems and information technology which are according international standards.
In a statement issued yesterday CTIC confirmed the result of electromagnetic radiation of radio frequencies in a workshop held in 12-4-1430 by CITC which view all aspects of electromagnetic waves and present the most important global and local controls of exposure to electromagnetic waves. Pointing out the participation of a number of scientists and specialists in the fields of medicine, physics, science, engineering and media, as well as government agencies, including King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Riyadh Municipality, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Health, Municipal Councils and Saudi Food& Drug Authority as well as telecoms companies and others.
The statement emphasized that CITC has warned of purchase and use of such products, which formed as metal pieces sold in local markets at high prices.
