Cabinet amends the date for the beginning of next academic year

E-Media: JEDDAH - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired yesterday at the Royal Court at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah the Cabinet meeting. During the meeting, the cabinet approved a number of measures concerning rural complexes including the cancellation of organizational structures of rural complexes and transforming them according to the following arrangements: 1- Transforming the rural complexes -- 44 rural complexes in all-- contained in the minutes of the Ministerial Committee for Administrative Organization number 70 on 15/2/1428 H. -- to municipalities of category D, 2- Expanding the categories of municipalities to become five categories-- A, B, C, D, E-- and transforming the remaining rural complexes to municipalities of category E. According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting agreed to change the date for the beginning of the next academic year for all educational institutions to Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. The Cabinet approved the publication of important decisions taken by legal committees of various government departments. The department of information technology at the Finance Ministry and other ministries will set up websites of the committees in order to publish their decisions electronically. The department can either contract with a printing firm or assign a private party to print a limited number of copies of the decisions. Revenues from the sales of such documents could be used to meet printing expenses. The Cabinet also authorized the minister of water and electricity to sign a memorandum of understanding with South Korea for cooperation in water and sewage management.
