A 5-year broadened plan for IT and innovation at KACST

Riyadh, e-Media: King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology has completed in cooperation with other concerned entities, the preparation of the first 5-year broadened plan for sciences, IT and innovations 2010/2014. The plan comes to include 8 national programs consisting of other national strategic projects in sciences and innovation with a cost of SR 16 Billion. Such a plan has been prepared for execution in parallel with the 9th development plan with a strategic objective that the Kingdom will be one of the pioneering states in IT and sciences in the Region by the year 1436H. The 8 main programs include strategic technologies program, scientific research skills, knowledge-community infrastructure in addition to other related programs. The Plan is marked by its strategic planning methodology with a variable time-frames when preparing programs and projects. Such a methodology contains both the soon and future priorities and requirements in addition to various technologies required.
