King Abdullah chairs cabinet meeting

The Cabinet discussed reports on the latest developments at the regional and international levels, including various Arab and international efforts on the Syrian crisis. The Cabinet renewed the Kingdom's firm stance and its keenness to make every effort to stem the bloodshed and violence in Syria.
The Cabinet confirmed full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and asserted that the attack on the sovereignty and interference in the internal affairs of any GCC Member State is intrusion and assault on all GCC countries. The statement confirmed that relations among the countries of the region must be based on mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, balanced speech and sincere handling of common issues.
The Cabinet listened to Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, on the outcomes of his visits to the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The Cabinet highly appreciated what has materialized of the historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the two friendly countries in terms of progress and development in various fields to serve the common interest, peace, security and stability in the region.
The Cabinet discussed the results of the 9th Islamic Conference of Information Ministers held in Gabon, hailing the final statement of the conference and Libreville declaration to support the joint Islamic information work, to address the tendentious campaigns that tarnish the image of Islam, and to denounce campaigns targeting Islam and Muslims.
The Cabinet discussed the Kingdom's participations in several international economic and cultural forums, including the meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and the preparatory meeting for the G20 Economic Summit next June.
