Madina Knowledge Economic City "KEC" signed lately with Deep Cloud Corporation a contract to establish a Data Center for information storage and advanced technological services on an area of 30.000 Square meter costing 400 S.R Million.
Such a center will be the first of its kind in the region utilizing advanced technologies and sophisticated systems and related components i.e. telecommunications and stable information systems, so that it will be an advanced regional center based on Information Industries. Working as a reserve center in case of catastrophes, the center will enable data to be used by both public and private sectors.
Prince Faisal bin Turki Al-Faisal, executive president of Deep Cloud Saudia, pointed out that such a center will make the Kingdom a main cradle for advanced information industries in the Middle East Region. Both the Kingdom and the Holy Madina will be the best in dealing with catastrophes relating to information-storage, he said.
On the other hand, Eng. Taher Bawazeer, executive president for KEC developers, confirmed that KEC has aimed at establishing a regional center specialized in Information Industries in the Region. This newly signed contract came as an important step to achieve KEC's objectives, he added. The center, he stated, will focus on continuity of work through a stable information system enabling corporations such as sectors of Banks, Education, Health and State possessed projects, to utilize services provided, especially that the Integration process with other data centers will avail the "Tier IV" system which is the latest technology ever used at data centers.
