Over 100,000 visited Taif’s flower festival

A total of 104,000 people from all over Saudi Arabia and abroad visited the popular flower festival here in April, spending on average SR225 per person.
This is according to a study recently undertaken by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities’ Tourist Information and Research Center (MAS). The researchers spoke to 389 visitors aged 18 years and older,according to "Saudi Gazette” news paper.
The report contained data concerning the number of visitors, the type of accommodation used and amounts spent in the city.
The visitors to the festival came from more than 42 destinations in the Kingdom and abroad. The majority, a total of 22 percent came from Jeddah and 21 percent from Makkah. 
Tariq Khan, Executive Director of the Commission’s branch in Taif, said the commission’s head Prince Sultan Bin Salman issued directives to the branch to form a committee for the development of next year’s seventh Taif Flower Festival; a development that aims to get it an international qualification. The committee will include participants from government and private sectors, he added.
