Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques : It hurts to see Muslims causing harm to Islam
Jeddah, SPA:
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at his palace in Jeddah the Kingdom's Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, who is also Chairman of the Senior Ulema Commission, the Religious Research Administration and Ifta and the Chairman of the Constituent Council of the Muslim World League (MWL); Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, the Secretary General of MWL, and participants in the Islamic World Conference: Issues and Solutions, which concluded earlier yesterday.
Al Al-Sheikh addressed the gathering, briefing the monarch of the outcome of the conference which was attended by more than 250 representatives of Muslim communities.
He said the conference tackled a number of problems shaking the Islamic world, calling for holding this conference on annual bases.
On behalf of the participants, Al Al-Sheikh thanked the monarch for warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to the delegates.
Abdulrahman Suwar Al-Dhahab, President of the Council of Trustees of the Islamic Call, then addressed the monarch on behalf of the participants.
He thanked the King for hosting this event, lauding the stability and prosperity enjoyed by the Kingdom, thanks to its prudent leadership and the adherence to the holy Quran and Prophet's Sunnah.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud delivered a speech in which he urged the audience to defend Islam.
The king said that some Muslims are destroying the Islamic world by spread division and non-Islamic matters adding that Islam is victorious and that every month, between 400 and 500 people embrace Islam despite the destruction in the Islamic world by some Muslims who should be banished for that.
The king urged the audience to adhere to the sound course of Islam and stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is always ready to serve Islam.
The king expressed hope that this meeting would be held annually.
The meeting was attended by a number of princes and ministers.
