Prince Mesha'l bin Majed, Jeddah Province Governor, patronizes the launch of a scientific symposium about (Modern systems for torrents drainage) organized by Saudi Commission for Engineers in cooperation with King Abdulaziz University.
Eng. Abdullah Ahmad Bugshan, Chairman of the Commission, said that the symposium has been envisioned to identify and evaluate knowledge development in the field of torrents & rains drainage. Among other objectives is how to reinforce relations among industrialists, researchers, academic specialists working in this field to share knowledge and develop appropriate means of coordination. With participations of academicians and specialists from both Public and Private Sectors, the symposium is to focus on various perspectives i.e.; planning and sustainable management related to rains and torrents drainage, exploitation of local and international related standards, how to be protected from possible hazards, and modern technologies of how to assemble such water resulting from rains and torrents to be treated and then used, he added.
The symposium is expected to deliver many recommendations on how to tackle the issue of water drainage in Jeddah to be directed to persons in charge for approval.
