Jeddah Municipality sends 3500 SMS to communicate citizens

Jeddah - Directorate-General for Electronic Communication in Jeddah Municipality has send more than 3500 short test messages to customers via mobile phone to follow up their transactions in order to reduce their need for frequent visits to the municipality.
A Short Message System (SMS) in Jeddah Municipality was launched last year as a means of multiple electronic communications used for citizens.
SMS official in Jeddah Municipality, as Saudi Press Agency reported, Dr. Mariam Abu Al-Ayneen pointed out that system is not only to deal with citizens transactions but also for engineering offices, adding that the citizens could ask for information about their transactions through Municipality website: www.jeddah.gov.sa.
Director-General of Electronic Communication in Municipality, Dr Arwa Yosef ِAl-Aama stressed that Municipality is keen to complete transactions clearly and transparently and launched a number of mechanisms to communicate electronically with citizens, such as (Bluetooth Advertise) and Jeddah Municipality’s page on (Face Book), in addition to (YouTube) channel and Jeddah Electronic Forum.
