RIYADH - On the sidelines of Advanced Technology Forum 2009, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has signed two Memos of Understanding with Scientific and Technical Research Council in Turkey and German Fraunhofer Society in order to achieve cooperation between KACST and these two scientific agencies.
The two Memos of Understanding, according to "Al-Riyadh" newspaper, aim to future cooperation, exchange of scientific expertise, competencies for preparation of research, training programs, joint advisory services and exchange of scientific and technical information, in addition to organization of bilateral conferences that concern the two countries.
King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) also signed yesterday an agreement for establishing joint center of excellence for multi-media techniques with Index Holder Company, a pioneer Japanese company in the field of multimedia and digital content, and Index Middle East Co. for cooperation in establishment and development of techniques supporting multimedia industry and advanced digital content.
A cooperation agreement also was signed with Intel Corporation to establish a global Center of Excellence for Nanotechnology Applications (CENA), according to the latest and highest international standards.
The center which will be opened in October 2010, focuses in conduct advanced research in nanotechnology applications and its networks MEMS, and manufacture and study results based on Nanotechnology, as well as creation and deposition of Nano-materials and its uses.
