Riyadh, e-Media: Ministry of Interior represented by the Directorate General for Passports has launched an e-System which enables travelers to register their arrivals and departures from the Kingdom automatically through e-Gates with no need to long time waiting. Such new e-Gates enable travelers to easily finalize procedures of arrival or departure through e-Cards issued by registration offices at airports where travelers no longer need to wait in front of Passports employees to get their data verified and passports stamped indicating arrivals or departures. The project's mechanism works when the traveler puts his e-Card on the relevant place within the gate in addition to putting his finger on another place so that the gate may automatically open allowing him to pass after all his personal data are shortly verified. For those who wish to register at this service, they should attend personally at registration offices at King Khaled international airport in Riyadh where passports employees will verify their IDs, register their biological features within the system "finger-prints" and finally issue cards that include its holder's photo.
