Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, who is also the President of the Supreme Commission of Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Prize for the Prophet's Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies, patronized yesterday, at Meridian hotel in Madina, the final ceremony of Prince Naif Competition for Memorization of the Prophet's Tradition (Hadith).
In his speech, Prince Naif confirmed that this competition has achieved most of its objectives especially for Saudi young people as the general results have always been good. He expressed his wishes that such benefits would spread and interest in Prophet Mohamed's Sunnah would be more expanded among most segments of Saudi society.
Dr. Saed Alorabi Alharthy, Advisor to second premiere, pointed out in his speech that the competition in its 5th edition has fruited well thanks to accurately and industriously planned work. More than 182.431 younger boys and girls participated in the competition during the last 5 years including 84.528 who memorized 100 Hadiths (Prophet's Traditions), and other 49.215 memorized 250 ones while 48.688 of the total number memorized 500 Hadiths (Prophet's Traditions), he added.
Declaring that winners were honored with about 3 million SR, Dr. Alharthy commended Ministry of Education for its effective role in the competition in addition to its hard-working employees' contributions to the competition all over the kingdom.
