London, (SPA) - Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirmed his country's support for the Republic of Yemen to maintain its stability, security, its development and prosperity and enhance its capabilities and powers.
Addressing the London Conference on Yemen, Prince Saud Al-Faisal thanked British Premier Jordon Brown for hosting this important conference, welcoming the presence of Yemen's Premier, his deputies and Foreign Minister.
He praised Yemen's prudence and faithfulness over history.
He vowed sincere friendship with Yemen and commitment to assist them and determination to become partners of Yemen as the world community fully supports Yemen's efforts to preserve its unity and stability and security in addition to achieve development and prosperity on its territories.
Prince Saud Al-Faisal said 'Our common efforts to assist Yemen to achieve its important goals were based on our respect to the sovereignty and independence of Yemen and our firm commitment to the principle of non-interference in its domestic affairs. However, Saudi Arabia strongly believes that one major threat facing Yemen is foreign intervention by some regional forces seeking to plant seeds of struggle and instability among the people of Yemen who share one firm history of unity and amicability.
He vowed that Saudi Arabia would continue to provide the most possible assistance to Yemen and urges all member countries of this meeting to follow suit. In its capacity as the biggest donor country to Yemen, Saudi Arabia, announces that it has already lived up to all its commitments drawn at London Conference 2006 and added more commitments within the Saudi Yemeni Coordination Council. Once the world community stood united beside Yemen, we believe that Yemen would be able to overcome all challenges facing it today, enabling its people to enjoy the deserved security and prosperity, Prince Saud Al-Faisal concluded.
