CITC Governor heading the Kingdom's delegation to WTDC 2010

Riyadh, e-Media: Dr. Abdurrahman Bin Ahmad Al-Jaafary, Governor of Communications and Information Technology Commission "CITC", heads the Kingdom's delegation to the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-10) that has been organized during the period from 24th of May till 4th of June 2010 in Hyderabad, India by ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau. The conference has been envisioned to identify priorities relating to development of Information and Communications technologies worldwide. It also attempts to point out contributions made by Member States and Sector Members, and to adopt the Hyderabad Action Plan (HAP) setting the future of activities of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) over the next four-year period. Dr. Al-Jaafary stated that such an occasion gets an additional importance as it is a good chance to illustrate the Kingdom's expertise in reference to organizing communications and information technology and setting it free. He confirmed that the Kingdom's Government has attributed a special interest towards communications and information technology sector. Such a keen interest has been to enable the communications sector to serve community especially that it has an effective role in this regard, he added. As a result, the Kingdom has exerted all efforts to reinforce regional and international collaboration in such a vital field, he said adding that Saudi Arabia has been an effective member at the ITU.
