Dr. Khaled bin Mohammed Al Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, inaugurates today the Saudi digital library during the 8th seminar on Distance Learning in Saudi universities, organized by the National Centre for e-learning and distance learning, entitled "The Role of Saudi Digital Library in the service of Higher Education" on Saturday and Sunday, at its headquarters in Riyadh .
The discussion seminar includes, according to the website of the Centre, issues about the digital library, the future’s libraries, digital information sources, international experiences in the field of digital libraries, Saudi digital libraries in the service of higher education, and benefit from the digital library in order to achieve the goals of higher education, and support the educational process and scientific research.
Saudi Digital Library is one of the pilot projects emanating from the National Centre for e-learning and distance learning, aiming at promoting the educational process in the Kingdom.
Library contains about 114 thousand digital book in the various disciplines, and more than 300 global publisher that have been linked to all Saudi universities.
